Ingredients
The shampoo boasts of a “Triple Moisture System” that consists of organic Argan Oil (with Argan Stem Cells), CoQ10 and organic Sea Buckthorn Oil. Here’s what these ingredients do:
CoQ10: Scientifically called Coenzyme Q10, it is a vitamin-like substance present in all cells of the body, particularly the mitochondria (known as the cell’s powerhouse).
It is used to produce energy and is also a natural antioxidant which protects your skin from damage caused from outside pollutants.
And it is this very function that also seems to protect your hair, particularly the hair follicle. The hair follicle ages just like your skin and as it ages, your hair thins (due to less and less hair keratin being produced).
CoQ10 prevents this reduction and slows the aging process, leading less thinning and less hair fall. However, this particular function is still open to debate since only one or two tests have been conducted to prove the effect of CoQ10 on hair.
Argan Stem Cell and Argan Oil: This shampoo contains a careful combination of Argan Oil and the stem cells of the Argan fruit. Stem cells are cells that give rise to infinitely more cells of the same type and are believed to be the centerpiece to regenerative medicine.
By using Argan stem cells, along with the combination of Argan oil, the positive effects of Argan are amplified, particularly at the hair follicle.
It therefore slows the aging process of the hair and promotes healthy hair growth. Argan is also known as a great moisturizer and effective in soothing psoriasis, eczema, acne and flaking of the skin due to its high Vitamin E content.
Sea Buckthorn Oil: the oil is naturally derived from the plant of the same name and biologically known as Hippophae rhamnoides, a plant found on the coastal areas of China, Russia, northern Europe and Canada.
Besides the Vitamin B1, B2, B6 (which promote hair growth) and Vitamin E it constitutes, the oil is rich in Omega-7 fatty acids which moisturizes the scalp and hair and also increases its capacity of retaining it.
Pumpkin Seed Oil: It is rich in Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids and is naturally derived from Pumpkin. It adds shine and it believed to prevent loss of hair and instead, promote its growth.
However, this is debatable since hardly any tests have been performed to prove it or study its effects on hair.
Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate & Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate: These are surfactants and foaming agents which help in creating lather and cleaning the scalp. These are milder than the usual Sodium Lauryl Sulphate and thus pose a lesser risk of irritated the scalp.
Potassium Sorbate: It is a common preservative that is also used in food products. Even though it is present in minimal amounts, it may irritate the skin from successive uses.
