Candidiasis also is known as Thrush is a common fungal infection (mycosis) of any species from the genus Candida, a type of yeast.
Candida albicans is the causative agent of Candidiasis in humans.
It is generally referred to as a yeast infection, candiasis also called as moniliasis and oidiomycosis.
Candidiasis includes infections that maybe superficial, like oral thrush or vaginitis, or can lead to efficacious life-threatening diseases.
This fungus naturally lives on certain parts of the body including vagina and esophagus. Normally, the fungus goes unnoticed.
However, certain factors such as birth control pills, antibiotics or having a weakened immune system can cause fungi to grow more rapidly.
Superficial infection of the skin and mucosal membrane by candida causes inflammation and discomfort in many cases.
While it is clearly attributable to the presence of the advanced organisms of the genus Candida, candidiasis describes a number of different disease symptoms that differ in their causes and consequences.
Chia seeds for candida
Chia seeds whose botanical name is Salvia hispanica, comes from the chia plant. They are also referred to as superfoods due to their high content of a variety of nutrients.
In the book, “Timeless Secrets Of Health And Rejuvenation”, author Andreas Moritz tells that chia seeds are rich in a number of nutrients, including omega-3-acids, calcium, iron, vitamin-c, potassium, and anti-oxidants.
Since, chia seeds have high fiber content, which helps to maintain a healthy balance in the digestive tract, which in turn inhibits candida infection.
Chia seeds are also known to contain an important amino acid, L-glutamine is also known as glutamate or glutamine, helps to maintain a strong immune system and a healthy digestive tract.
For these reasons, chia seeds serve as an important supplement for the cure of
candidiasis, especially for women.
The University Of Maryland Medical Center states that glutamine may help strengthen the immune system and reduce the likelihood of infections.
Since chia seeds slow down the rate at which complex carbohydrates are digested and assimilated into the body, they lower down the cholesterol level and the sugar level too, which is one of the important cause of candida.
Hence, chia seeds reduce the sugar level and hence help in eliminating candida.
