In this study, individuals were assigned to either a control diet or grapefruit diet wherein they give half a fresh grapefruit thrice daily with each meal for 6 weeks.

Grapefruit consumption resulted in modest weight loss outcomes but a significant reduction in waist circumference and blood pressure.

Improvement in lipid profile was observed. However, researchers concluded that grapefruit consumption for 6 weeks does not result in significant weight loss as compared to control.
